Dr. Hamid bin Saeed Al Amri is a writer and film director. He holds a PhD from Ain Shams University, Arab Republic of Egypt. He graduated from the School of Cinema and Television from Egypt. He has been a member of the Omani Cinema Association since 2006, and a former chairman of the Omani Cinema and Theater Association (2021-2022), and a former chairman of the Omani Cinema Association (2023-2024), and founder of film festivals in the governorates. He is the author of the book (Snapshots from Omani Cinema) 2016, and the book (Omani Cinema between Reality and Ambition) 2024 with Noura Al Badawi. He directed many films that won awards at local and international festivals, including (Al-Haqam, Al-Hamam in Muscat) 2015, (Memory Like Stone) 2016, (White Gold) 2021, and (Stairs) 2022.
In many juries at local and international film festivals, head of juries and member of some committees.
